Citizens Welfare Foundation operates two rented elder care centres supporting 55 residents. Approximately 15 to 20 elderly residents receive complete care without charge because they were taken from the streets or had no dependable family support. Other residents receive care with financial assistance from their families. Every resident arrives with different physical, emotional and personal needs. Some require help with meals, bathing, clothing or diapers, while others depend upon routine medicines, medical attention and the reassuring presence of someone who listens patiently.
Keeping both centres running requires continuous financial support. Monthly rent, employee salaries, electricity, maintenance, groceries, hygiene supplies, medicines and medical treatment remain essential throughout the year. These responsibilities continue each morning and every night because residents depend upon uninterrupted accommodation and assistance. Donor contributions help meet practical needs such as warm meals, personal care, clean surroundings and a secure place to rest.
The true meaning of dignified elder care is found in everyday moments. It is visible when meals arrive on time, assistance is offered with patience and an elderly resident can express discomfort without feeling like a burden. Through dependable support, vulnerable elderly people can experience comfort, respect and the warmth of a home where their wellbeing genuinely matters.
